Mr. Asmus came to the Muskegon area from Chicago 28 years ago and was employed by the government as a mail carrier until his illness. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
He received his education in Logansport, Indiana, where he was born January 14, 1904, and also in Chicago. He married the former Mayta Marie Heineman of Mauston, Wisconsin, on December 24, 1927, in Waukegan, Ill.
Surviving are his wife; five sons: William, Gustav, Frederick, David and Michael, all of Ravenna, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav Frederick and Anna C. Asmus of Mauston, Wisconsin, and a brother, Frederick Asmus of Logansport, Ind.
Services will be held at the Ravenna Methodist Church, Ravenna, Michigan. Burial will be at the Ravenna Cemetery.
