Linda L. Swank Knoefel, 50, died April 6, 2000, at her home in Abbyville.

She was born Aug. 29, 1949, at Spearville, the daughter of Charles and Alice Mrkvicka Baber. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1967. A Hutchinson area resident for 35 years, moving from Dodge City, she was an employee of Hospice of Reno County.

On June 3, 1989, she married Carl Knoefel at Wichita. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Vance, Wichita; a daughter, Jennifer Swank, Wichita; her mother, Hutchinson; four brothers, Thomas Baber, Dallas, Jerome Baber, Seattle, and Richard and William Baber, both of Hutchinson; three sisters, Patricia Fredelake, Hutchinson, Nancy Baber, Stafford, and Susan Sanders, Denver.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Johnson & Sons Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Fred Obold presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Hadley Day Care Center, or Hospice of Reno County, both in care of the funeral home.
