"Thanks to Lieut.John Washburn we know that Joseph Leonard and his wife Martha Orcutt were buried here in the Old Grave Yard of Bridgewater MA. in the vacant space NOW near the monuments of their son Joseph and his wife Mary Packard, on Mr. Lathams plan. Lieut John Washburn was the sexton from 1739-1797."
"It is sad to note that NO MONUMENTS marks the resting place of my grandfathers'grandparents...." Simeon Leonard wrote in a letter dated 1855 to Manning Leonard.
