He was born June 27, 1938, in Grand Rapids, the son of Catherine and Archie Richardson, and grew up there. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a ranger with special forces from 1957 to 1959. He married Margaret Karner in Remer Nov. 3, 1962, and the couple lived in Grand Rapids and Trout Lake before moving to Remer in 1970. He worked 30 years for the Blandin Paper Company in Grand Rapids, retiring in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Marge; two daughters, Susan Wilson, Placerville, Calif., and Carol Procopio, Maple Grove; two sons, William Richardson, Columbia, Mo., and Charles Richardson, Remer; a sister, Nancy McClure, Elco, Nev.; a brother, Louie Richardson, Grand Rapids; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Jack Richardson.

Funeral: Wednesday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Remer, with the Revs. Bruce Engen and Rev. Roland Antus officiating.

Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Remer, with full military honors.
