CHESNEE-Benjamin Franklin McDowell, 80, of Chesnee, Route 2, died unexpectedly at his home Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

His wife, Mrs. Zora Swain McDowell, died May 28, 1937.

Surviving are one son, Virgil H. McDowell of Chesnee; four sisters, Mrs. Melvin Swain, Mrs. J.J. Page, Mrs. Walter Fagan, all of Campobello, and Mrs. Sidney Fagan of Landrum; one brother, Joel McDowell of Campobello; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Arrowwood Baptist Church by the Revs. W.B. Thorne and Carl O. Page. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
