Anna Eliza Oliver was the daughter of William Graham Oliver and Elizabeth Ann (Spangler) Oliver. She was born on February 10, 1853 in La Prarie, Adams County, Illinois. She died on January 07, 1931 in Reed Springs, Stone County, Misssouri. Anna married Lucius H. Shumate on July 11, 1877 in Schuyler, Missouri. Lucius was a Reverend in the Episcopalian Methodist Church. To this union a son, Lucius St. Clair Shumate, was born. The family moved quite a bit, living in Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska. Lucius and Anna went their seperate ways between 1895 and 1900. Lucius remarried around 1900. Anna and her son moved to Reed Springs, Missouri where she resided until her death.
