OBITUARY

Jack Wilbur Boyle, son of Sarah and James Boyle was born on December 14th, 1898 at Alexandria, Ohio, and departed this life at the Veterans Hospital in Denver, Colorado, on June 22, 1963, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 28 days.

His early life was spent in the Cambridge, Ohio area. He enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1917 and served in the Engineer Corps in France. He came to the McDonald, Kansas community in 1919 after his discharge from the Army.

On May 14, 1925, he was united in marriage to Goldye M. Conner and to this union two daughters were born.

He was a member of the American Legion; McDonald Lodge No. 383, A.F.&A.M.; Atwood Chapter No. 84; Atwood Commandery No. 54; Isis Shrine of Salina and Progressive Chapter No. 396, O.E.S.

He retired as Postmaster at McDonald in 1961.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Jacquelynn Treadwell.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. LaRene Treadwell and her husband, Charles, of Aurora, Colorado and Mrs. Jo Ann Caughlin and her husband, Gerald and boys, Bill and Mike of The Hague, Netherlands. Other relatives and friends also join in mourning his passing.

Services were held from the Federated Church with Rev. Clarence L. Swihart officiating. Interment was in Grace Cemetery, McDonald.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Amos, Goodland; Mrs. Della Conner, Mrs. Fred Cushing, Mrs. Lule Burks, Mrs. John Burks, Stratton, Nebr.; Mrs. Leon Carse, Palisade, Nebr.; Mrs. Ray Rains, Trenton, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Banta and Pam, Oberlin; Mrs. and Mrs. Merle Murray, Bird City.
