Mr. Lord, a lifelong resident of Laurens County, was a member of the Lyons Club and a director in the Knight State Bank in Dexter. He was city clerk of Dexter for many years, a retired grocer and farmer. He was a Primitive Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora HELTON Lord of Dexter; three brothers, R.T. Lord and K.I. Lord, both of Dudley, and J.C. Lord of Macon; five sisters, Mrs. Bessie Sirmons and Mrs. Mattie Darsey, both of Dudley, Mrs. Mildred Turk of Pineview, Mrs. Myrtice Darsey of Pearson and Mrs. Charlotte Toler of Irwinton.
The family will be at the the residence of Ernest Lord of Dexter.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30-9:00 tonight.
