LEBANON, Va. Vivian Elzina LaForce, 87, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Born in Hazel
Mountain, Va., on May 12, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Josie Phillips Powers. In addition to her parents, her
husband, Stacy LaForce; sons, Ronald LaForce and Lonnie Wayne LaForce; son-in-law, Glen Dotson; daughter-in-law, Dorothy
Laforce; brothers, Emory Powers, Carter Powers and Willard Powers; and sisters, Ethel Burke, Dorcas Rasnick and Nina
Stephens all preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her children,
Mina Geraldine Dotson of Cleveland, Va., Lois Ann Sutherland and husband, Michael, of Lebanon, Danny LaForce and wife,
Shirley, of Dayton, Ohio and Kermit "Butch" LaForce and wife, Patricia, of Columbia, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren;
and four great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Pallbearers will be grandchildren,
Mitch LaForce, Dan LaForce, Craig LaForce, Darrell LaForce, Lt. Col. Anthony Dotson and Michael Dotson. Honorary pallbearers
will be Jimmy Williams, Don Rasnick, Phillip McGlothlin, Larry Haas, Mike Thompson and Joey Bratton. Funeral services will be
held at 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at Owens Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Duane Musick and the Rev. Rick Smith
officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Powers Family Cemetery in Hazel Mountain. Those
wishing to follow in the funeral procession are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. The family will receive friends on
Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home before the service. Owens Funeral Service, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements
