Mrs. Sarah Morey 90 Dies at Son's Home

Resident of This Vicinity Many Years
Succumbs Friday. Funeral Services Were Held Monday.

Mrs. Sarah Morey, widow of the late
Isaac Morey, died on Friday, April 4,
1947, at the home of her son, Clarence
Morey, at Tilly Foster. She observed
her 90th birthday on Feb. 8 last.

The deceased was a daughter of
George W. and Mary Jordan Olivett
and she was born on Feb. 8, 1857, in
Dover, Dutchess county. When a
young woman she was united in marriage
with Isaac Morey, who died 18
years ago. She maintained her home
until a few months ago when she went
to live with her son.
Surviving are seven children, one
daughter, Mrs. Benedict, of Danbury,
Conn.; and six sons, Charles, Irving
and Arthur, of Danbury, Conn., Clarence
and James, of Brewster, and Herman, of Brooklyn.
Also several grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
The body reposed at the Cargain
funeral home In Carmel until Monday, when
funeral services were held
there at one o'clock, conducted by the
Rev. H. Pierce Simpson, pastor of the
Mt. Carmel Baptist church. Interment was
made in the Pawling cemetery. The bearers'
were Bruce Pryor, Fred Johnson, Edward Moscow
and Walter White.
