Malinda Chamberlain was born in Tazewell County Illinois on January 29, 1840 and dies at Alexandria, Nebraska, October 21, 1915. Aged 75 years, 8 months and 22 days. With her husband, Philip Bricka, she came to Nebraska in 1871, locating near where the town of Tobias now stands. In the early eighties they moved to this county and located on a farm two and a half miles northeast of this place where they lived for several years and then came to Alexandria where they made their home until the death of her husband on October 14, 1903. Since that time she has made her home with her children until the time of her death. She leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother eight children as follows: Frank E. Woods of Hebron, Illinois; Mary Hill of this city, Kate Schlamann of Hemmingford, Nebraska, Susie E. Davidson of Piqua, Ohio, Fred E. Bricka of Lincoln, Nebraska, Daniel E. Bricka of this city, Bert F. Bricka or Nora, Nebraska and Alice Reynolds of Wichita, Kansas. She also leaves four sisters and two brothers. The funeral service was held at the M.E. Church, with burial in the Alexandria Cemetery.
