Wayne L. Bacon, 80, of Nampa, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1990, at his home. Mr. Bacon was born May 23, 1909, at Okfuskee, Okla., a son of Dudley G. and India Stevens Bacon. He grew up and attended schools in Oklahoma. He then followed the rodeo circuits, and later worked as a ranger in Yellowstone National Park. He married Gladys P. Rowell on Sept. 24, 1941, at Drumright, Okla. He was then working the oil fields and refining plants and in the course of his work, they lived in several different states. He retired in 1965 and they moved to Nampa, where they have since resided. His favorite hobby was training and working with horses.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of Nampa; a son, Ronald W. Bacon of Nampa; a daughter, India L. Byington of Nampa; a brother, Jack Bacon of Stroud, Okla.; two sisters, Nina Jones of Bristow, Okla., Fern Ridenour of Cushing, Okla., seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
