She was born on July 21, 1923 to Pearl Hooe of Newman. She was raised by Sherman and Armajetta Hooe, her maternal grandparents. She married Robert Allen in Old Monroe, Mo. on Nov. 1, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Earl Allen, who died at birth.
She is survived by her children, Connie Underwood (husband Gale) of Villa Grove, Steve Allen (wife Dee) of Newman, Becky Robinson (husband John) of Villa Grove and Jim Allen (wife Nancy) of Newman; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
