Surviving him at the time of his death were his wife, Mrs. Bertha McAlister Black; five sons, J.D. Black, Arthur Black, Albert Black, Roy Black, and Etheredge Black; three daughters, Mrs. E.G. (Lela Mae) Owen, Mrs. H.C. (Gladys) Crenshaw, and Miss Ruth Black; a sister, Mrs. Ben Perry, and grandchildren.
