Fred Henderson Alley, 75, of Caldwell, died Thursday, July 21, 1994, at his home after an extended illness. Fred H. Alley was born April 11, 1919, at Mercer, Mercer County, Missouri, to Thomas Eli and Mary Gertrude Quinn Alley. He was reared and educated in Mercer, graduating from high school in 1938. In June 1941, he joined the U.S. Army and served until the war was over in 1945 in the Pacific Theatre. He married Mary G. McLain November, 1, 1941, in Princeton, Missouri. They lived in Henderson, Nevada, until August 1950 when they moved to Caldwell. Fred was employed at the Buick garage in Caldwell for more than 30 years. He served as a volunteer fireman in Caldwell form 1958 to 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his cabin in Valley County, Idaho. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend. Mr. Alley was a member of the United Methodist Church, Caldwell, and the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Caldwell; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Ron Darbin of Caldwell; one son, Douglas of Boise; two granddaughters, Jessica Harrison and Cheyane Dabin of Caldwell; two brothers, Lloyd Alley of Mercer, Missouri, and Claude Alley of Leon, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gene Alley; and two brothers, Warren and Robert.

Following cremation, private inurnment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
