Benjamin Eakins is survived by a companion of 12 years: Essie Hale; three sons: Gary Eakins and wife Evelyn of St. Louis, Missouri; Tom Eakins and Eugene Eakins both of Farmington, Missouri; two step-daughters: Jewell Hibbs of St. Charles, Missouri and Alberta Claywell and husband Dennis of Portage Des Sioux, Missouri; brother: Bobby Eakins and wife Ella of St. Louis, MO.; sister: Christine Swartz and husband Bill of Carlyle, Illinois, along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceding Benjamin Eakins in death are his parents: Benjamin Franklin and Almedia (Chambers) Eakins; and one daughter: Juanita Page; three sisters: Sarah Sewell; Ruth Joyce and Wanda Eakins; three brothers: Paul; Erman and Marvin Eakins.

Services
Services for Benjamin Franklin Eakins will be conducted on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Mick Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to: The Lung Association. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
