Rosalie Skelton, 94, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2007 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Strode Chapel, Stillwater, Okla. with Reverend Stanley M. Warfield, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, Okla. with Strode Funeral Home handling all of the arrangements.

Rosalie was born on May 30, 1912 in Rumley, Ark. to Henry Kinser and Frances Rumley. She married Sewell Gilbert Skelton on November 7, 1935 in Stillwater, Okla. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1991.

Rosalie attended school in Shamrock, Marshall, Henryetta, and Follett, Texas. She graduated from Follett High School and received a bachelor's of science from Oklahoma State University's School of Business in 1935.

Rosalie then began working as a secretary for the Rural Resettlement Program in Gardiner Hall, which was a precursor to USDA. She then decided to stay home and raise her children and after her children were grown she worked in the registrars office at OSU. She loved her family and her special "title" from her grandchildren and great grandchildren was "Mamu."

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Stillwater Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary, Cooperative Extension, American Legion Auxiliary, OSU Alumni Association, NARFE, OEA, and China Painters Ceramics.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Linda Kay Hunter, and grandson, Kevin Weston.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosalyn Weston of Stillwater, Okla.; four grandchildren: Ray Dean Weston, Jr. and Carol of London, England; Lynna Ruth Tweeten and Lon of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey; Bryan David Hunter of Allen, Texas; Sherrel Barry and Daniel of Richardson, Texas; and nine great grandchildren: Anne Weston, Dean Weston, III; Brook, Drew, and Jace Tweeten; Stephen, Danny, and Phillip Hunter; and Kyle Barry; one sister, Ruby Lasater of Stillwater, Okla.; and son-in-law, David Hunter of Allen, Texas.

Memorials may be sent to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N E 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73104; or a charity of your choice.
