B. Alcalá, age 93, passed away on September 29, 2011.

Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a dedicated, head cook for CCISD for over 30 years; and was full of life. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Barrera, and Amelia C. Romo; husband, Benjamin Alcalá; and sons, Albert Garza, Antonio Rangel; and daughter-in-law, Elida Rangel.

Dolores leaves behind her loving life companion, Felix Guerrero; sons, Robert (Diane) Alcalá and Ben (Lilly) Alcalá Jr.; known as her son, Antonio Arredondo Jr.; sisters, Amelia 'Molly' Callender, and Lilli Huisar; grand-children, Cynthia, Tony Jr., Joe, Laura, Marta, Lisa, Robert Jr., Betty, Mary Helen, Anita and Ben; nephews, Fernando (Anna) Chapa, Roland (Nora) Reyna; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara at Port on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10:00 am; burial to follow at Beeville Memorial Park in Beeville, Texas
