Obituary - Rites Set For Morris F. Cronkhite

Memorial services for Morris Frederick Cronkhite, 69, retired President of the old Turrell Shoe Co, here, will be at 11 o'clock tomorrow in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Cremation is under direction of the Bonney-Watson Co.

Mr. Cronkhite died of a heart attack yesterday in a hospital. He resided at 1015 37th Ave. E.

A native of Menominee, Mich., Mr. Cronkhite had lived here since 1931. He was president of the shoe firm from 1931 until his retirement in 1952. He also was the founder and a Director of the Pacific Match Co., Tacoma.

Mr. Cronkhite was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was a former president of the Men's University Club and was a member of the Seattle Rotary Club, the Rainier Club, and Epiphany parish.

Survivors include his wife, Hope; a son, John Morris Cronkhite, Seattle; a daughter, Mrs. (Marjorie) James Ingram, Aberdeen; a sister, Mrs. Alvin Vinther, Spokane, and four grandchildren.

The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to charity.
