VAN WERT - Mrs. Emma E. Gribler, 68, 347 W. Crawford, Van Wert, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in her residence from a cerebral hemorrhage. She had been ill for two months.
Born Oct. 4, 1890 in Willshire Township, she was a daughter of John and Mary Sophia (Germann) Schmid.
She was first married November 25, 1933 to Roy E. Carter, who died in 1935. Her second husband, George A. Gribler, whom she married August 9, 1942, died in 1948.
A resident of Van Wert, she formerly lived in Willshire and also resided for two years at Winamac, Ind. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Surviving are two stepsons, Ernest Gribler of Willshire Township and Edward Gribler of Harrison Township; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Esther Oechsle and Mrs. Sarah Kreischer, both of Harrison Township; one brother, Martin J. Schmid of Willshire Township and two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Fauble of Liberty Township and Mrs. Melvin Johnson of Wolcottville, Ind.
A brother, Hermann E. Schmid, died in 1953.
Rites will be at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Cowan and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. C. H. Mathias to officiate. Burial will be in the Protestant Evangelical Cemetery in Harrison Township.
