Ruth Lillian Kemp Hartley, 92, of Mannington, died Sunday (Dec. 17, 2006) at the residence of her niece, Karen "Janie" Moore, who cared for her aunt for several years.

She was born July 19, 1914, in Warren, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank Kemp and Alice King Kemp Wright.

In addition to her niece, she is sur­vived by one brother, Harry Thomas Kemp of Carlisle, Pa.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and her care­giver for many years, Anita Doshen of Wyatt.

Ruth retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Fairmont. She was a mem­ber of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher as well as a Bible study teacher. She enjoyed traveling, espe­cially to Oklahoma.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William McKinley Dunn; second hus­band, Marshall "Peck" Hartley; two step brothers, Albert and Thurman Mahoney; one half brother, Walter Mahoney; one sister, Ethel Stier; one brother who died in infancy; and one step son, Jim Hartley.

Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
