Edward N. VanCamp, 86, 2704 N. Elm St., died Saturday morning in Chateau Convalescent Center after a long illness.

He was born in Muncie, the son of John and Elizabeth Van Camp, attended city schools and spent most of his life in this community. He served in the Navy during World War I. Mr. Van Camp was a pattern maker for Phillips Pattern and Casting Co. before his retirement in 1962 and earlier was self-employed in that profession. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife, Louise Doggett Van Camp; a daughter, Carol (Mrs. Glenn) Koch, New Orleans; a son, Charles W. Van Camp, Muncie; two stepdaughters, Eleanor (Mrs. Clyde) Kennedy, Seal Beach, Calif., and Wilma (Mrs. John) Frasier, Muncie; two stepsons, Marvin and Richard Doggett, Muncie; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Theresia Lacy, Monterey, Ill., and Gertrude Boyer, Toledo, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary, with Father Louis Heitz officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling hour at the mortuary are 5-8 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited there at 5 p.m. today.
