GUEST, JAMES ISAAC J. Ike Guest, 69, of Irving, Texas, passed away on April 9, 2008. Ike was a native of Valliant, Oklahoma, a graduate of Valliant High School and a recipient of the Valliant Alumni Hall of Fame Award. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in accounting. Ike was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and a friend to many. He was an avid fan of the Mavs, the Dallas Cowboys and the Professional Bull Riders Association. Ike began his career with Deloitte & Touche in 1960, and after a tour of duty as a Signal Corps officer, returned to Deloitte & Touche where he retired as a partner in 1991. Ike then joined a local CPA firm, Lightfoot Guest Moore & Co. as partner, where he remained active in public accounting, serving in various roles in Texas and on a national basis for the accounting profession. Ike served on the Board of Directors of the OSU Alumni Association and received the OSU Alumni Service Award in 1997 and was later inducted into the OSU School of Accounting Hall of Fame. Ike has served on the AICPA Governing Council and on the Joint Trial Board of the AICPA. In 2002, Ike received the highest award granted by the Texas State Board of Public Accounting � the Meritorious Service to Public Accounting Profession in Texas. Ike was a board member of the Texas Society of CPAs and President of the Dallas Chapter, where he was named Dallas CPA of the Year. He also served as a member and chairman of the Regulatory and Legislative Group of the TSCPA. In the past several years, Ike has devoted much of his time serving his local community. He has been active in the Greater Irving/Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, serving as Treasurer, Group Vice President and Chairman. Ike also served on the Board of Directors of the Irving Economic Development Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau. Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Elaine Guest, of Valliant, Oklahoma. Ike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra; son, Matthew and wife Jenny; one sister, Jennie Hammonds and husband Richard, of Idabel, Oklahoma; one brother, Rev. Lawrence Guest and wife Laura of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and many nephews, nieces and friends. Service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, April 14, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
