Kenneth M. Conkle, age 74, of Hamtramck St., Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, September 15, 2002 at the Morning View Care Center in Danville. He was born on January 4, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, son to the late Beverly and Iva (Smith) Conkle. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Knox County where he was employed at Cooper Energy Services, was a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge, and the Millwood Church of Christ. He was a veteran serving from 1946 – 1947 in the Army.

Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Barbara Horn of Mt. Vernon, Carol (Richard) McFerren of Fredericktown, a son Jeff Conkle of Mt. Vernon, four grandchildren, Lori Blanchard, Matthew McFerren, Trisha Conkle, Melissa Mull, two great grandchildren, Alexis Tomlin, Lorissa Blanchard, and a sister, June Caravella of New York. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen I. Conkle, three brothers, Harold, Raymond and Beverly "Biff" Conkle, and a sister, Beulah Burns.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
