(This Mary Elizabeth (Arthurs) must be William's second wife. They married in November 1910, but his daughter Charlotte was born in 1885. In census' 1900 and 1910, Mary Unknown is married to William, born in 1855-1858 and in New York, unlike Mary Elizabeth Arthurs born in 1873 in Illinois. I also found a Mary and William Ballagh, with correct DOB's and places of birth, in a New York 1920 census. This is becoming very confusing. William James Ballagh is married to Mary Elizabeth Arthurs Ballagh at this time. However, there is a discrepancy in the 1930 census, after Mary Arthurs has died. Maybe Mary Unknown is back as her birth is back to 1853 and back to being born in New York. Did she come back?)
I've found two burials for him.
I believe that the Goleta Cemetery is the correct one, so probably buried with neither wife.
