At the age of 8 Seirin traveled from Yokohama, Japan on Oct. 15, 1917 on the S.S. Siberia Maru with his mother Sei and his brothers Kazuo and Saburo.
Because of his Japanese ancestry, during World War II Mr. Ikeda was sent to live in a relocation camp from 01 Sep, 1942 to 12 Mar, 1944. Relocation center Gila River in Arizona. He was sent there along with his father Juzo Ikeda, mother Sei Ikeda, brother Kazuo Ikeda and brother Saburo Ikeda. His father, unfortunately, died while living in the camp. Upon release from the camp Sei went back to Arroyo Grande, Ca. Kazuo went to New York City, N.Y. Seirin went to Toledo, Ohio and Saburo went to Ft. Douglas, Utah. His NARA number was 3.
Seirin married Marian M. Mana on 05 Mar 1955 in Santa Barbara, Ca.
