W C Clayton, 80, Ridge Spring
Ridge Spring, Feb 21 -- William C Clayton, 80, died unexpectedly Friday night at the home of his son, Roy Clayton.
He was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church near New Holland, and had lived in this section all of his life.
Survivors include one son, Roy Clayton of Ridge Spring; two daughters, Mrs C P Bailey of Edgefield and Mrs Charlie Veith of Utica, NY; one brother, George Clayton of Aiken and two sisters, Miss M E Clayton of Aiken and Mrs Mamie Lybrand of Charleston.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 Monday afternoon from the Rocky Springs Church near New Holland by the pastor, the Rev Dewey Cockrell, assisted by the Rev Charles A Griffith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body will remain at the Ridge Funeral Home until 9 o'clock Monday morning, when it will be taken to the home of his son until the hour of service.
