Obituary of Forrest Lingenfelter
Forrest "Mike" Lingenfelter,67, of Hollidaysburg died at 5:11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 1994, at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona, following a brief illness.
A service was held Friday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville, by the Rev. David Haydu. Entombment was at Alto-Reste Park Mausoleum, Altoona.
Mr. Lingenfelter was born in Sproul, the son of Forrest and Roseanna (Dodson) Lingenfelter. He married Blanche Reffner on Jan. 1, 1947, in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife, three children: Kim, Karen Benton and Kevin, all of Hollidaysburg, and six grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother James of Martinsburg.
Mr. Lingenfelter retired as a barber from the Hollidaysburg State Hospital in 1979, after 20 years' service. He also operated his own barber shop in Hollidaysburg for many years.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Hollidaysburg.
Mr. Lingenfelter also was a member of Allegheny Club of Hollidaysburg.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a seaman first class.
Mr. Lingenfelter was a graduate of Johnstown Barber School.
