STARKSBORO - A mass of the resurrection was celebrated Tuesday, Sep 25 in St Ambrose Church in Bristol for Mrs Anna B Hannan, 80, who died Saturday, Sep 22 following a long illness. Burial was in Mount St Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. She was born in Starksboro, May 24, 1904, daughter of Edward T and Alice (Casey) Butler. She was a member of St Ambrose Church, the Catholic Women's Club and had served on the Postoral Council. She taught schools in Starksboro, New Haven and Bristol for many years. She served Starksboro as school director, was a member of the Board of Civil Authority, trustee of the library and was past president of the Starksboro Extension Homemakers Club. She was past president, past vice president and held several other offices for the Vermont Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary for many years. She was a delegate to the National Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary Association in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1958.
Survivors are her husband, Edward L Hannan of Starksboro, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
