--She & her twin sister Amanda were among 15 children of Adam Brevard Davidson & his wife Mary Laura Springs. Isabella grew up on the family's plantation, "Rural Hill". Her father had inherited the plantation started by his grandfather.
--Isabelle married Charles G. Montgomery on Sept. 6, 1871. They were living in Concord in 1880. By 1900 they were living in Gadsden, AL and they were in Mobile, AL in 1910. After she was widowed, she returned to NC, living in Charlotte.
--She & Charles had 13 children: Mary Davidson, Isabella Davidson, John Brevard, Amanda May, Charles Gaines Jr., William Henry "Harry", Francis S., Julia Baxter, Lucy C. "Lutie", Leroy Springs,Annie Laura, Jennie Augusta, & Elizabeth "Bettie" Lilly Montgomery.
