Christine (Amstrup) Jacobson was born April 2, 1915 to Charles and Agnes (Pedersen) Amstrup in Sabin, MN. Her childhood years were spent in the Sabin area. In 1928, she moved with her parents to a farm in the Kindred area. She attended school in Walcott, ND.
She married Reuben Jacobson in Moorhead, MN on January 29, 1932. They farmed in the Walcott and Kindred area until 1946 when they moved to Walcott.
She was a homemaker until 1958 when she went to work at NDSU in Food Services. In 1960, she went to work for Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota as a housemother, first at the Svee Home and then at Luther Hall. During this time she also attended NDSU. She retired in 1975.
She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She made many dolls, teddy bears, and clowns that were enjoyed by many.
She was a member of Walcott Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also very active in the local Ladies Aid, Homemakers Club, and 4-H Leader for a number of years.
She is survived by two sons and five daughters: Rev. Reuben Jacobson, Mary (Alfred) Lieseth, Janice Peterson, Judy (Peter) Larson, Shirley (Layton) Johnson, Charles (Sandy) Jacobson, Sharon (Patrick) Connelly; two daughters-in-law: Arlene (Jerry) Malak, Gail Jacobson, Fargo, ND; 28 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 11 great, great grandchildren; three brothers: Norman (Bernice) Amstrup, Harold (Dollye) Amstrup, Carl (Pat) Amstrup; Three sister-in-law: Esther Mae Amstrup, Alma Paasche, Evelyn Iken; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reuben; two sons: Ronald and Duane; a granddaughter; great-grandson; a brother: Robert; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Jacobson and a son-in-law: Robert Peterson.
