Robert Leonard, one of Saxton's most prominent citizens, passed away January 8, 1952. He was born in Bedford County on February 3, 1869, the son of David L. and Mary (Abbott) Leonard, both deceased. On April 13, 1899 he was united in marriage with Ollie Lloyd at Duquesne. Mrs, Leonard preceded her husband in death on May 3, 1949. During his lifetime, Mr. Leonard was a foreman on the Huntingdon and Broad Top maintenance of ways. He was retired from that position in 1934. He is survived by the following children: Walter of Schwenkville; Robert of Philadelphia; Jesse C. of Saxton; Miss Mildred Leonard, at home; (Mary) Mrs. E. L. Snavely of Saxton, and (Sarah) Mrs. Joseph Ross of Aliquippa. Three brothers and sisters also survive: Levi Leonard of Bedford; Mrs. George Perrin of Martinsburg and James Leonard of Saxton.
