Cynthia Maria Brooks, a daughter of Bartlett Brooks (1801-1847) and Monima [Williams] Brooks (1801-18670, married William Harrison Boyd (1832-1910), a son of David and Martha Narcissa [Gaston] Boyd, on July 13th 1852 in Waterloo, Laurens County, South Carolina. This union was blessed with the following known ten children:
Ida Marie (1853-1856)
Samuel William (1853-1858)
Elizabeth "Betty" (1860-1862)
Bartlett Brooks (1864-1940)
Corrie (1864-1912)
Rosa {m. Leslie}(1866-1905)
William Burland (1869-1952)
Harrison "Harry" (1871-1940)
Fannie Allen {m. Ramage}(1874-1938)
Miller (1878-1940)

On August 6th 1910, after her husband died in April 1910, Cynthia Boyd made application for Widows Pension for Civil War Veterans; for Wm. Harrison Boyd’s service in Co. E, 6th South Carolina Cavalry. At the time of her death she was living with her son, Wm. Burland Boyd in Texas.
