Fall proves fatal
George M. Avery dies of injury sustained a week ago

The funeral of George M. Avery, a well known resident of this city, whose death occurred last evening at 7:30 o'clock at his home, No. 168 Holland street, as the result of a fall in his home about a week ago will be held on Saturday from the family home.
Mr. Avery stumbled over a rug last Wednesday and fell, striking on his head. He had apparently recovered from the shock of the fall and was able to attend the Elk's field day at the stadium on Saturday. On Monday evening his head troubled him. The family physician, Dr. E.O. Kinne, was called. It is believed that Mr. Avery suffered a concussion of the brain when he fell, resulting in his death.
Mr. Avery was well known in this city. He was treasurer of the O.V. Tracy company, with whom he had been associated for more than thirty-seven years. He was a thirty-second degree Mason and a member of the Citizen's Club and the Elks.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Augusta Chandler Avery, Mr. Avery is survived by one son, Harold Chandler Avery of Chicago and one brother, John M. Avery of this city.
