Aunt Jo was a nurse in WWI. After the war, she worked as a private duty nurse as well as a nurse in local hospitals. She loved animals and had many pets--horses, dogs, and birds. She had several Chow Chows that she named "Buddy". She once rescued a baby Mockingbird and raised him, naming him "Mike". She was a kind and gentle person.
