Son of Hugh & Mary (Hamilton) Abernathy
Although his birth year appears to be 1806-07 according to his ages in censuses, his headstone states 1803, with death year 1875. I don't have any further death info. Also, his name ranges in records & stone from Kelon to Kellam in records and as Kilom in his father's will.
He 1st married Hannah Loper 22 Dec 1825 in Franklin County, Indiana. They had at least two children: John, b. Abt 1830 & Selina b. 1833 (m. James Richardson). He 2nd married Betsy Ann Penner 28 Jul 1836 in Fountain County, Indiana, where they had at least seven children, including Hannah, Sarah Francis, Jane, Richard (b. Abt 1843 d.13 Oct 1845), Nancy, Perry C., & William Alfred b. 05 Jun 1849. They are living in Wabash, Fountain, IN, in 1850, & moved to MO apparently sometime between then & 1856. No info as to why they moved there as dtr Hannah (see attached memorial) ended up in IA, Jane (m.Rudolph Rudy Custer) in Corley, IN, & Nancy (m.James Richard Duffey) & Perry in Gaylord, KS, & William Alfred m.Sarah Jane Williamson & had at least 3 kids: Martha, William & John, between 1868 & 1871, & lived in Randolph County, IN; no further info at this time on what happened to Sarah Francis.
