Mrs. Catherine Biggers Collins, 97, of Marshville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011.
A Service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Centerview Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Joe Stroud. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Centerview Baptist Church following the funeral service.
Mrs. Collins was born on Nov. 28, 1913, in Union County, N.C., a daughter of the late Augustus (Gus) Biggers and Sarah (Sally) Margaret Brooks Biggers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lee Collins; a brother, A. Wade Biggers of Concord; three sisters, Leo B. Terry Hardister of Albemarle, Margaret B. Jerome of Billings, Mont., and Ruth B. Duncan of Marshville.
Catherine was a loyal and faithful member of Centerview Baptist Church in Marshville. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and many crafts. She was an avid reader and displayed a spirit of benevolence and love towards others. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
