Boyd Lee Fannin, 81, of Ashland, Ky., widower of Virginia Mae Stanley Fannin, died September 25, 2011, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.

He was a retired carpenter.

Boyd Lee Fannin, 81, of Ashland, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.

Mr. Fannin was born September 28, 1929, in Westwood, a son of the late Wallace Greene and Nora Lou Morgan Fannin.

He was a retired carpenter and 50-year member with Local Union 472. He was a 50-year member of Fred M. Gross Lodge 953 F&AM, a member of Apperson Chapter 81, Everette Council 65, Ashland Commandery 28 and El Hasa Shrine, where he was a member of Directors’ Staff and served in the Clown Unit. He was also a faithful member of Hoods Creek Baptist Church of the First Enterprise Association on Route 5 and attended regularly until his illness prevented him from doing so.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Mae Stanley Fannin, an infant daughter, Fredia Diane Fannin, son-in-law, Sonny Litteral, and two sisters, Cora Smith and Christine Shaffer.

Funeral service will be noon Wednesday, Caniff Funeral Home, Westwood, Ky.; burial at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland.
