Crescent City - The sympathy of this community is with Rev. Dr. and Mrs. D. M. Reeves in their recent bereavement in the loss of a daughter, Mrs. C. H. (M. Ella Reeves) Linter, who was visiting her parents at the time of her death, Tuesday, Sept. 2nd. Mrs. Linter came here for a short visit with her parents about two months ago while en route from Tampa to Philadelphia to join her husband, who now makes his headquarters in the latter city. She was persuaded and gained the consent of her husband to prolong her visit. On Monday she gave birth to a little boy, and on the following day was seized with convulsions, in one of which she passed away.
At the time of her death, Mr. Linter, who is in the marine service, was en route to Galveston, and he could not know of his wife's death nor the birth of his little son until the arrival of his vessel at that point this week.
The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Monday and were conducted by Rev. D. Spencer of Silver Pond. The interment was in Eden Cemetery.
Mrs. Linter was the second child of Dr. and Mrs. Reeves. She had been teaching in South Florida, where she was married about one year ago. Her husband recently engaged in the marine service between Philadelphia and Galveston, and had prepared a home for his bride in the former city. The blow will come with crashing weight upon him, as it has upon the fond parents, the brothers and little sister.
The little motherless baby will be cared for, for the present, by Mrs. Reeves, who is far from able to undertake the responsibility. (Palatka News Obituary dtd Friday, 11 Sep 1902.)
