Son of Jim A. Williams and Mary Catherine Fisher. Floyd changed his name from Floyd Williams to Floyd Franklin Phillips some time between the 1910 US Federal Census and 2 Sep 1916 when he married Mollie Lillian Maroney.

Newspaper Obit: "Floyd Phillips - Floyd F. Phillips, 94, of Wichita Falls, (Texas), died Saturday (8 Oct 1983) at a Wichita Falls hospital. George Beeson of Paradise conducted a military service Monday for the World War I veteran. Funeral services at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home were conducted by the Rev. George Broome, minister of Maurine Street Church of God. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Byers (Clay County, Texas). Born September 15, 1889, in Tyler (Smith County, Texas), Phillips lived in the Wichita Falls area for 50 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James S. Goforth of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Loyd E. Hamilton of Bridgeport; three sons, J. F. Phillips, Vernon; H. L. Phillips, Jacksboro; and J.[sic] H. "Gene" Phillips, Wichita Falls; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren."
