Mrs. Frances Louise Welch, 58, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at her home, 1000 West Main.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later through the Potts Funeral Home.
Frances Louise Welch was born March 27,1910 near Jefferson, the daughter of John Daniel Andres and Mary E. (Weaver) Andres. She lived for a period of time in Kansas City returning to the Jefferson community and completing her education there. On September 28, 1928 she was united in marriage to Vernon Shaffer in this city. The couple made their home in the Radical community near Independence later moving to a residence in this city. To this union were born three children, Betty Leah, now deceased, Vernon Earl of this city and Mrs. Judith Ann Johnson of this city. Mr. Shaffer preceded has wife in death in 1946.
On July 11, 1949 she was married to Howard Welch at Bentonville, Ark., who survives. To this union was born a daughter, Janice Elaine, surviving at the home.
Additional survivors include five nieces and nephews of the home who were being reared by Mrs. Welch. They are Linda Jean Andres and Lonnie Ray Andres, Larry Lee Andres and Leeland Eugene Andres, and Betty Louise Andres. Surviving also are three brothers, John Andres and Roy Andres of Independence and Raymond Eugene Andres of California; two sisters, Mary Burger of Wellington, Kan. and Alice Campbell of Galveston, Tex. Other survivors include five grandchildren.
Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, her parents, and one grandchild.
She had attended the Assembly of God Church of this city.
