Mrs. Elizabeth Birdsall, widow of Ashley Birdsall, passed away Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Denning, 3720 Benninghoffen Ave., following a prolonged illness due to complications. She was in her 77th year. Mrs. Birdsall was born and reared in the city and lived here her entire life. She was a devoted mother and was admired by all who knew her. She was an untiring worker in church work and devoted much of her time to lodge work. St. Elizabeth's Auxiliary, No. 61, Knights of St. John this city, was founded by her. She was also a member of the L. C. B. A. The deceased was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, being affiliated with the various church societies. She was also a member of the Married Ladies Society and the Poor Souls Society of St. Stephen's Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Denning and Mrs. Elizabeth Hart; one sister, Mrs. Rose Brinker; one brother, Edward Kullmann; a grandson, John Hart, Jr; beside numerous relatives and friends. Funeral services will take place from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theodore Denning, 3720 Benninghoffen Ave., Thursday morning, at 8:30, followed by Solemn Requiem High Mass in St. Ann's Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be made in St. Stephen's Cemetery. St. Elizabeth Auxiliary No. 61 Knights of St. John, which was founded by the deceased, will hold special memorial services at the residence Wednesday night. The L. C. B. A. Lodge No. 487 and the St. Ann's Poor Souls Society have also planned to hold memorial services at the home. Friends may call at the Denning residence Wednesday after 2 p.m.
