OBITUARY
James Adolphus Kimzey was born in the State of Illinois, July 9, 1860 and departed this life, March 19, 1943, at he(sic) age of 82 years, 8 months and 10 days, at his home north of Strong City.
He moved from Illinois to Texas at the age of nine years. In 1893 he moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and later moved near Strong City, where he lived the remaining years of his life.
His first marriage was Lavinna(sic) Hunt in 1885, at Buffalo Gap, Texas. To this union was born twins, who died in infancy. The mother also departed this life at that time, in 1891, in New Mexico.
In 1900 he was married to Rosie Colburn, and to this union was born one child, Porter Kimzey.
He was converted at an early age to the Church of Christ.
His brothers had all preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his going, a son, Porter Kimzey, a daughter-in-law, Hazel Kimzel, a grandson, Steele Kimzey, all of Strong City, a step-son, Jim Colburn, who is serving in the United States Army, stationed at Orlando, Florida, besides a host of frieds.(sic)
Interment was made in the Strong City cemetery, with Wheeler Burial Association, of Clinton, in charge.
