Albert A. Banton Funeral Wednesday

Albert Alcie Banton, 70, life-long resident of Benton County, died Friday at a Portland hospital following a short illness.

The son of Charles and Ruby Ball Banton, he was born June 11, 1898, in Benton County. In August of 1927, he was married to Trena Edelle Bowen at Albany. The couple moved to Alsea following their marriage where he has since resided. Mrs. Banton passed away in 1961. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Gerald L. Banton, Alsea; three sisters, Mrs. Edith France, Alsea; Mrs. May Grimm, Hillsboro, nd Mrs. Ann Klien, Hermiston; three grandchildren, Gary Banton, U.S. Army, Vietnam, Curtis, Kathy and Bert Banton, Alsea.

Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church in Alsea on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Knickrehm officiating. Interment will follow in the Alsea Cemetery.
