Mrs. Frank Leaverton, aged 74 years, and for more than thirty years a resident of Burlington Junction and vicinity, died at her home here last Friday morning at 11:00 o'clock. Mrs. Leaverton had been in declining health for several years.
Aribelle Gardner Leaverton, daughter of John and Margaret Gardner, was born December 7, 1865, at Clay City, Ind., and died at her home in Burlington Junction last Friday morning, May 24th, aged 74 years, 5 months and 17 days. Mr. & Mrs. Leaverton were married in February, 1906, and had lived in this community throughout their wedded life. Before moving into Burlington Jucntion they had lived on a farm between Burlington Junction and Clearmont.
Mrs. Leaverton was a member of the local Christian Church, and for many years was an active church worker.
Surviving are the husband, Frank Leaverton; a sister, Mrs. Laura Barnes, Columbia; a brother, H. A. Brough, Newton, MO.; a nephew, H. O. Brough, Lancaster, Mo., who made his home with Mr. & Mrs. Leaverton for a number of years; a niece, Mrs. Marvel Pollock, Washington, D. C. In addition she is survived by sisters-in-law, Mrs. Viola Leaverton, Clearmont; Mrs. Ella Leaverton, Independence, MO.; Mrs. Ella Leaverton, Monica, Ill.: Mrs. Mattie Leaverton, Dawson; and members of their families.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Jen. Burial in Ohio Cemetery.
