Mary Ann married Major Thomas Bruce. She gave birth to her daughter Mary Laidler Bruce in 1835 and apparently died in childbirth or shortly thereafter. She was buried 2 April 1835 at Page's Chapel.(Now St. Thomas Episcopal-Croom)
In 1850, Thomas Bruce a tobacco planter, was residing in Marlboro with his daughter, Mary Laidler Bruce.
