Funeral services for Reba Larson were held on Tuesday Dec 28 at noon in the Grover LDS Church.
A viewing was held on Tuesday, Dec 28, prior to the services at the church.
Reba Turner Taggart Larson, age 87, passed away on Dec 23, 2010, at the Franklin County Medical Center Transitional care Unit in Preston, Idaho.
Reba was born in Turnerville on Nov 19, 1923. the first child of Stephen Percy and Myrtle Walton Turner. She attended grade school in the little one-room school in Turnerville. She graduated from Star Valley High School in 1942.
Following high school, she went to Salt Lake City, Utah, and got a job at the Ordinance Plant helping the war effort.
Reba married John Dean Taggart on Sept 5, 1942. in Paris Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Nov. 14, 1947.
Reba then started working at the Star Valley Hospital. She loved her hospital job. She started as a receptionist and eventually completed and received her LPN license. She loved the medical field and her hospital family.
She and Dean divorced in 1960 and she married Donald Larson on Dec 19, 1960, in Kemmerer. They lived in several locations, one being in Laramie, where she became an X-Ray Technician. When they moved to Jackson Hole, she worked at the Roundup Store until don retired from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and they moved to Grover.
Don had a job as range rider for the Greys River Cattle Association up little Greys. Reba accompanied him. she also got a job at the U.S. Forest Service in Afton and worked there for several years.
When she retired from her job, she was never idle. she loved to sew, made dozen of quilts and did beautiful handwork and many of these items were entered in the Lincoln County Fair winning lots of blue ribbons. When her health and mind started to fail, she went to Preston, Idaho, to the care center. She was there from June, 2008, until her passing on Dec. 23, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Don Larson, of Preston; Eugene Turner, Bedford; Lennis Atkinson, Tucson, Ariz; Naretta T. Reeder of Preston, Idaho; LaDon (Arlene) Turner of Cheyenne. Stepchildren LaVal Larson, Gayle Eddins, Vicki Lamb and Woody Larson.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and brother, Lloyd Turner.
Funeral services were held Dec 28, 2010, at the Grover LDS Chapel. Interment was in the Grover Cemetery.
