Dahlia A. White, 89, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, at her residence. She was born June 12, 1919 in Putnam County, WV a daughter of the late Leftridge and Ida Mae Lawson Beckett.

Also preceding her in death was
her husband of 61 years, E. Blackburn White;
two brothers, Sherman Beckett and Billy Beckett;
a sister, Esther Brown.

She was a member of Highlawn Baptist Church and worked with crippled children at the former Morris Memorial Hospital and Huntington Orthopedic Hospital.

Survivors include:
a daughter, Barbara Blankenship of Salt Rock, WV;
a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Rita White of Little Rock, AR;
four granddaughters, Sheri Legg and her husband, Bobby, of Huntington, Cheryl Kane and her husband, Jim, of Salt Rock, WV, and Shelly White and Cassie White, both of Arkansas;
four great granddaughters in Arkansas, Rebecca, Nicole, Gracie, and Chloe and a great granddaughter, Rebecca Legg of Huntington;
three great grandsons, Jonathan Legg of Huntington and Alex and Andrew Kane, both of Salt Rock.

Funeral service was at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Brian Wray officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
