Funeral services for Corbett Elmo Sims, 92, LaFeria, Texas, and formerly of West Plains, Missouri, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, with speaker Jessica Rath.

Mr. Sims died Monday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas. He was born Dec. 22, 1906 in Gainesville, the son of Oss T. and Edith Gaulding Sims.

In 1935, he was married to Opal Miller, who preceded him in death Sept. 1, 1967. On May 12, 1981, he was married to Zola McGee.

Mr. Sims was a beer distributor for about 40 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Lions Club, American Legion as commander of the Legion, and he managed American Legion baseball, something he enjoyed very much.

Survivors include his wife, Zola Sims, of the family home; one daughter, Ann Kay Dugan and husband, Bill, West Plains; and one granddaughter, Jessica Rath, Los Angeles, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; one brother, Paris Sims; and three sisters, Inda Amyx, Beulah Sims and Careful Gilliland.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of West Plains.
