Mrs. Bessie Ellen Ritchie, 90
of 45 N. Brook Ave., Harrisonburg died early Sunday morning at Rockingham Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since March 5.
She was born Aug. 20, 1883 in Franklin County and was a daughter of the late Mordecal Dempsey and Mary Ellen Montgomery Boone.
She was married twice. In 1904 she married Walter Lee Magalis who died May 16, 1924. In 1942 she married Charles Edward Ritchie, who died in 1952.
She was a member of Mt. Bethel Church of the Brethren and the missionary society.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jessie L. Mowbray of Rt. 4, Harrisonburg and Mrs. John T. Thompson of Pittsburg, PA., Four sons, Curtis J. Magalis of Harrisonburg, Joseph H. Magalis of Riverton, Orville E Magalis, of Grass Valley, Calif. and Richard B. Magalis of McGaheysville. One step-daughter, Mrs. Daisy Magalis McGlaughlin of Hartville Oh. 24 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and 4 brothers, Joel Price Boone of Washbash, Ind., John Mordecal Boone of Cannon City, Colo., Irvin Cline Boone of Wirtz and Harry Ernest Boone of Banning Calif.
The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. C.Y. Gilmer. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
